I have seen all sides of the academic spectrum here, starting as a Mechanical Engineering STEM major and now as a Creative Media Industries liberal arts major; I couldn't do the math. For anyone that can the engineering program seems like one of the finest in the country with more hands on experience which is what drew me to this school. As a Creative Media Industries major, I am also getting incredible hands on experience. I am even going to have the opportunity to study abroad in New Zealand! I was able to connect with a few excellent professors in the Black Studies and Chicano/Latino Studies departments who guided me and provided professional learning and growth through internships and mentoring. It was also a beautiful campus with lots of trees and close to the beach, which I took advantage of while attending school there. One of my favorite parts of this university was the Chicano/Latino Graduation, where there were Danza Azteca dancers and drums in celebration of our culture inside the pyramid. I would recommend this university to anyone looking to grow personally through exposure to divers cultures and perspectives different from their own, as well as academically, where the quality of the professors is very high....
