Dalton, 77, 417 Hammond Mt. Carmel. Mary Daugherty CHARLOTTE, N.C. Mary Elizabeth Daugherty, 67, 4737 Woodlark Lane, Charlotte, N.C. Ona Baker Ona Murphy Baker, 79, Coco, formerly of Scott County, died at 10:32 p.m.

Sunday in a Florida hospital. She was a housewife and a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in Ft. Blackmore, Va. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Willie Mae Knittle, Ft.

Myers, and Mrs. Betty Jean Dryden, Coco, 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Francis Castle, Weber City, two brothers, J.W. Perry, Gate City, Va. and Austin Perry, Ft.

Blackmore, Va. The body is being returned to the Gate City Funeral Home, where arrangements are incomplete. Nannie Barnes Mrs. Nannie Kate Barnes, 75, Route 16, Gray, died yesterday evening at Indian Path Hospital following a lengthy illness. A native of Washington County, she was the daughter of the late William Jacob and Cora Stepp Deakins.

She was a member of the Gray United Methodist Church and Susan Wesley Circle. Mrs. Barnes was preceded in death by her husband, William Virgil Barnes, a daughter, Miss Jessie Mae Barnes, in 1929 and her stepmother, Cora Brummitt Deakins in 1963. Surviving are two sons, Dwight and Ivan Barnes, both of Gray; one daughter, Mrs. Lucille Broyles, Limestone; one stepson, William Virgil Barnes Gray; three stepdaughters, Mrs.

Anna Ruth Kincheloe, Harmony, Mrs. Helen Jackson and Mrs. Bernice Hale, both of Gray; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one half-brother, Stanley Hughes Deakins, Johnson City. Friends may call from 7-9 tonight at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home, Jonesboro, and at any time at the home of the son, Dwight Barnes. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m.

tomorrow at Gray United Methodist Church with the Rev. Darris Doyal and the Rev. James Pollack officiating. The body will be lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Pallbearers will be grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be stepgrandsons.

Interment will be in Gray Cemetery. Guy F. Dalton Guy F. Dalton, 77, 417 Hammond Mt. Carmel, died yesterday morning at Holston Valley Hospital Medical Center after a long illness.

Born in Scott County, he had resided in Mt. Carmel for the last 45 years and was employed by Kingsport Armature Electric Co. as an electrician, retiring in 1971 after several years' service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, attended West Ridge Presbyterian and was a member of the Modern Woodman of American and I.B.E.W.

Local 934. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. June L. Dalton, Mt. Carmel; a daughter, Mrs.

Willie (Shirley) Cradic, Mt. Carmel; two grandchildren; four sisters, Howard (Berta) Gilreath and Mrs. W.K. (Kate) Perry, both of Kingsport, Mrs. Albert (Amanda) Ketron, Jonesboro, and Mrs.

J.E. (Rachel) Stapleton, Clinchport, and a brother, Garland M. Dalton, Kingsport. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Maj. Charles Dalton in 1981, and Dan Dalton, 1980.

Friends may call from 7-9 tonight at Oak Hill Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. William T. Wing Ill and the Rev.

Mary Elizabeth Daugherty, 67, 4737 Woodlark Lane, Charlotte, N.C., died at 11:06 p.m. Sunday at the Presbyterian Hospital.

Born in Wythe County, she had been a resident of Charlotte, N.C., for the past 45 years. Surviving are two sons, Tommy Daugherty, and Gale Daugherty, both of Charlotte, N.C.; two sisters, Miss Alice Jackson, High Point, N.C., and Mrs. Nellie Altzek, Marion, two broth-, ers, Fleming Jackson, Ohio, and Tony Jackson, Marion, Va. She was the widow of Banks W. Pettus and was preceded in death by her mother and father, Mr.

and Mrs. Ed (Rose) Jackson. Friends may call from 7-9 tonight at Oak Hill Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. tomorrow at the funeral home chapel with the Rev.

Herman S. Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Hattie De Vilbiss Mrs. Hattie DeVilbiss, 90, Kingsport Health Care Center, formerly of 208 Holland Drive, Colonial Heights, died at 1:10 p.m.

yesterday at Holston Valley Hospital Medical Center following a long illness. Born in Spring Garden, she had lived most of her adult life in Kansas City, and moved to Kingsport two and a half years ago. She was a retired stenographer, working for Eastman Kodak in Kansas City retiring in 1958 after 25 years of service. She belonged to the P.E.O. Sisterhood Chapter H.O., and was a member of Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Laura Abernathy, Kingsport, and several nephews. Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Colonial Heights Chapel of Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home with Dr. H.

Alan Elmore officiating. Friends may call preceding the memorial services. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to the Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund. Arville Kelly PENNINGTON GAP, Va. Arville Lee Kelly, 69, Pennington Gap, died yesterday morning at his residence.

A former resident of Robbins Chapel community, he was a retired coal miner and a member of Local Union of the UMWA. He was also a member of Robbins Chapel United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Alma Kelly, Pennington Gap; one daughter, Mrs. Hilda Orick, Big Stone Gap, two grandchildren; one brother, Sherman Kelly, Agees, one half-brother, Clyde Kelly, Pennington Gap; three sisters, Lizzie Huff, Dayton, Ohio, Maxie Kirk, Jonesville, and Elsie Feldman, Cincinnati, Ohio; three half-sisters, Bernice Rivers, North Carolina, Edith Stanley, Rogersville and Gertrude Woodward, Pennington Gap. Born April 28, 1923, she departed this life March 28, 1983. She professed faith in Christ at an early age and joined Union a Missionary Baptist Church, then later in life moved her membership to Hubert's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church where she remained a faithful member until death. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.L. Leonard in 1980 and her mother, Mrs. Dolly Wolfe in 1982.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Carr, Surgoinsville, and Mrs. Wayne Vaughn, Mooresburg; two sons, J.L. Leonard Mt. Carmel, and Clay Leonard, Rutledge; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; six sisters, Mrs.

Ray Atkins, Madisonville, Mrs. J.P. Denton, Tolbott, Mrs. Dan Stubblefield Mooresburg, Mrs. Earl Wise, Marshall, N.C., Mrs.

William Lyons ROGERSVILLE William Harry Lyons, 82, Route 3, Rogersville, was dead on arrival at Hawkins County Memorial Hospital at 4:30 p.m. yesterday after a long illness. A lifelong resident of Hawkins County, he was a retired farmer and a member of Lyon's Chapel A.M.E.

Zion Church. Surviving are his wife, Juanita Lyons, of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Maude Lyons Burton and Mary Lyons Brice, both of Rogersville; one son, William Lyons, Rogersville; six grandchildren. Born in Scott County, she lived there until moving to Hawkins County nine years ago. She was a member of Beech Grove Primitive Baptist Church. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs.

She attended the Tacoma Holiness Christian Church of God. Surviving are three daughters, Alice Hamilton, Pauline Malone, both of Wise, and Patsy Turner, Kingsport; three sons, Paul Sexton, Columbus, Emory Sexton, Norton, and Robert Sexton, Appalachia, 32 grandchildren; several greatgrandchildren. The body will be taken to the Tacoma Holiness Church of God at 3 p.m. today where the family will receive friends. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m.

Waddell PENNINGTON GAP, Va. R.P. Waddell, 84, Route 2, Pennington Gap, died yesterday morning at Lee County Community Hospital after a long illness. A lifelong resident of Lee County, he was a member of Long Hollow Christian Church and a retired farmer. Surviving are his wife, Gladys Waddell, Pennington Gap, three sons, Harold Waddell, Roger Waddell, both of Pennington Gap, and Bobby Waddell, Fayetteville, N.C.; two daughters, Betty Bellamy, Jonesboro, and Zelma Parsons, Pennington Gap; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Bascom Waddell, Pennington Gap, five sisters, Minerva Peters, Bristol, Ella Sheets, Green Bank, Pearl Welliver, Ruby Hogg, both of Huntington, W.Va., and Edith Burke, Jonesville, Va.

Williams ELIZABETHTON Mrs. Lillie G. Williams, 90, Hermitage Nursing Home, Elizabethton, died yesterday morning after an illness of several weeks. She was a native of Mitchell County, N.C., and a member of Watauga Valley Freewill Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons, Maynard Williams, Elizabethton, and Coy Williams, Kingsport; five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs.

Bertie Robinson, Elizabethton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence B. Williams, May 21, 1968; a son, Glenn Williams, Aug. 27, 1976; and her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
