Data Manager: The Missing Piece of the Puzzle
UK-Med is on the hunt for a seasoned Data Manager to fortify health information systems and guarantee top-notch data management in emergency responses. This role is pivotal, enabling evidence-based decisions, supporting medical teams, and ensuring compliance with health authorities and internal standards.
This job is not for the faint-hearted. It demands full-time availability for 6-8 weeks, often in high-stakes environments like Ukraine. But the impact is immense.
Mission-Critical Responsibilities:
- Data System Architect: Develop and implement data management systems, aligning with emergency response goals and data requirements.
- Tool Mastery: Design and adapt data collection tools to capture project-specific indicators.
- Standard Bearer: Lead the creation and execution of Standard Operating Procedures for data management and documentation.
- Technical Guru: Provide hands-on support to medical teams and field staff, ensuring seamless data flows.
- Trainer Extraordinaire: Educate staff on data collection, quality assurance, and security.
- Data Detective: Analyze health data to guide program strategies and clinical decisions.
- Report Wizard: Collaborate with medical leaders to craft weekly and monthly data analysis summaries.
- Collaborator: Participate in meetings to enhance health information systems.
- Guardian of Privacy: Uphold patient confidentiality and data protection policies.

The Ideal Candidate:
- Technical Wizardry: A degree or equivalent experience in Epidemiology, Public Health, Data Science, or related fields.

- Analytical Acumen: Ability to analyze complex data under pressure.
- Humanitarian Data Expertise: Knowledge of data protection in humanitarian settings and WHO/MoH reporting systems.
- Communication Prowess: Excellent English skills; additional languages are a bonus.
Experience & Qualities:
- 3+ Years of Data Management: Preferably in humanitarian or health emergency settings.
- Field Support Mastery: Proven success in supporting multiple facilities or field hospitals with efficient data systems.
- Organizational Excellence: Strong organizational skills for challenging environments.
- Proactive Problem Solver: Ready to deploy globally on short notice.
- Integrity & Cultural Sensitivity: High personal integrity and cultural awareness.
Employment Details:
- Salary: Up to £3,500/month, based on location and experience.
- Deployment: Typically 6-8 weeks per assignment.
- Hours: Full-time, including evenings and weekends during emergencies.
- Leave: 33 days annually, with potential adjustments for deployment constraints.
- Clearances: Medical fitness and security checks are mandatory.
