Harry Potter Butterbeer Fudge Recipe

We visited Harry Potter World this year and my son and I had a full-on-ugly-cry-melt-down the second we walked into Diagon Alley.

I am sure my husband was beyond embarrassed. The wonderful old man checking people into the leaky cauldron comforted all three of us by saying it happens to more people than you would expect…

And muttered “muggles…” under his breath while rolling his eyes.

That place is magical. It is like you are walking directly into the books. All of the employees are playing their part.I never once saw anyone break character and my seven year old loved every interaction. The BEST part was definitely the treats.

We sipped pumpkin juice, purchased chocolate frogs, tested our luck with every flavor beans, AND drank butterbeer. One of the workers mentioned that the fudge was one of her favorites which inspired me to add it to my collection!

My two ingredient fudge flavor list is long but THIS one is my favorite. Just two ingredients and packed with butterscotch flavor. Add this to your holiday candy making and get ready to blow people away!

We tried every single butterbeer flavored item at the theme park. The best description is butterscotch with a bit of a sugar cookie mixed in. Think of it as a cream soda with a heavier hint of butterscotch.

How to make fudge with two ingredients:

  1. Line an 8×8 square pan with wax paper.
  2. Place the butterscotch chips in a glass bowl and melt in the microwave according to the package directions. Be sure not to overheat or the chocolate will seize.
  3. Fold in the vanilla frosting. Pour into your prepared dish and refrigerate for 1 hour or until firm.

Side note before I let you go…

IF you are ever in Harry Potter World make sure you try Otter’s Fizzy Orange Juice. It was voted the favorite from all three of us and one of the undervalued treasures of the park!

I am never making regular fudge again. This was so simple and my kids gobbled it up. My husband couldn’t tell the difference between this and a cooked version I made. Easy and tasty.

Hm, did you melt the chips slowly, stirring ever 15 seconds? It sounds like the chocolate was overheated and seized. I’d be happy to troubleshoot with you.
